Featherdale wildlife park

I lost my last post :(
it was uploaded and I am not sure why is not there..
Anways, Featherdale Wildlife Park is a MUST visit place if you are an animal lover or haven't seen any native Australian animals or just happen to be in Sydney and have no plans...You get to pet and feed kangaroos and wallabies. Also get to hold some reptiles such as a blue tongue lizard (so cute) and meet Australia's most deadly reptiles and insects in a safe secured glass protected environment.

And of course, you get to meet lots of Koalas and pet them while they are sleeping or getting high in their eucalyptus snacks. (They are so soft and fluffy...heehee cuter than Taro)

Wombat drinking water, check out its front paws..he/she is dipping them on the water

Wallabies

Tawny Frogmouth...they camouflaged so well, i thought they were wood logs

Yup, you can pet them...but dont scream or poke them as they can get kind of stress up

Thats how close you can get with a birdie, you can even hold them and have a picture taken

Check out these kids, they are really excited and I am sure they are having fun feeding and petting the roos. Even the babies in the pram were excited, they kick and giggle...

wallabies, you want mummum (food..in singlish)

Okie, save some for the rest..dont be greedy

Tasmanian Devil, according to the website "Tasmanian devil belies its fierce appearance and awesome name by having difficult in killing a rat and is itself easily killed by a dog."
Afterall they are not like the cartoon we see on tv...not that scary

Catnip?

Original box: recylced from a tissue box

8 sided box made from acid free paper

Recently I have upgraded Taro's box to a much bigger 8 sided box, therefore he no longer need to squeeze himself in his small tiny blue tissue box.

By placing some dried catnip in there, it will stimulate and encourage him to utilise the box more often.

To me, catnip seems like a drug for cats and most cats will only react to it at the age of 6mth old or older. For Taro's case, he started sniffing and eating catnip at 4.5 mths old.

Catnip basically smell like herbal tea and was traditionally used to cure human's cold.

I am kind of glad that Taro no longer need to squeeze himself in a small tissue box, even though it may seems like he is more secure in there as compared to the new one. But cats are amazing, they will somehow make themselves comfortable, as seen in the above picture, Taro lies vertically so that the box will fold inwards, giving him a little protection and security...

Is that ENG vs SWE?

News Update: Taro seems to like soccer, he has been watching certain games in front of the tv and at times he will attempt to go after the ball with his paws against the screen (silly boy!)He spent roughly 10 mins sitting in front of certain games and occasionally when he walks pass the action, he will glaze at the tv for awhile...is really funny...honestly, we think he thinks he is human....what a silly boy. Posted by Picasa
